V60 Method

Ingredients

  • 15g coffee
  • 545g water

Steps

  1. Heat brewing water to 97°C.
  2. Fold filter paper and place in V60.
  3. Rinse filter paper with hot water to remove taints and preheat vessel.
  4. Grind 15g coffee at a medium grind (caster sugar).
  5. Pour the ground coffee into the brewer and gently shake to flatten the coffee.
  6. Place the V60 on scales and tare.
  7. Start your timer as soon as you begin pouring.

  8. Using a circular motion, bloom the coffee by pouring 45g water before 30 seconds.
  9. At 30 seconds, start the second pour. This time pouring until 100g water on the scales.
  10. At 1 minute, pour again until 150g water is reached on the scale.
  11. At 1.5 minutes, pour the final amount of water until 250g water of water is in.
  12. Wait for all the water to pass through the coffee grounds.
  13. Your finished brew time should be around 3 minutes - 3.5 minutes.
  14. If your coffee takes longer than 3 minutes - 3.5 minutes to brew, make your grind setting coarser.

    If you coffee takes shorter than 3 minutes - 3.5 minutes to brew, make your grind setting finer.
